First Annual Sew Much for Charity Event

On March 10th, we hosted our first annual Sew Much for Charity event. Our mission was to allow local sewing circles here in the Greater Harrisburg area to come together as a collective unit to benefit our community. We had opportunities to meet other sewers, knitters, crocheters, etc. who also engage in charity sewing to benefit various nonprofit organizations, or meet specific needs. Forty seven crafters were in attendance, and created 238 items: 28 quilts for Binky Patrol, 1 snuggle sack, 6 blankets, 6 caps for Harrisburg Hospital, 87 blankets, 16 baby outfits, 2 baby pillows, 10 baby hats, 5 winter scarves, 3 bibs, 4 pair of booties, 22 laundry baby for Morning Star, 10 tote bags, 21 aprons for Salvation Army, 4 pair curtains, 6 sets of placemats, 2 bedspreads, 1 cap, 4 dishcloths for Silence of Mary. We can't wait until next year! We already have a date: March 15, 2008. One of our members obtained space once again at her home church for the event. Please join us next March!
