Our Current List of Needs July 2011

Only dreamin...

A GIANT ROOM with enough electrical outlets and ability to power 2 crock pots and 20 sewing machines for our Sew Much for Charity, October 15th, and to set up the event on October 14th. We need fifteen 8' tables for our needle arts charities to do their work, and nine 8' tables to hold all the free fabric we will give away. We have outgrown Trinity United Methodist Church in Hummelstown who has graciously given us use of their fellowship hall many times. Do you have an "in" at the Legion, Elks, or Moose clubs? How about an "in" at your local fire hall? Your church? Please make initial contact with your facility to see if they might be interested in helping us, and then call me with the contact information so I can follow up. Thank you SEW much!

ZIPPERS: any size, any color zippers to make the personal care bags that contain travel size items like shampoos, lotion, and bars of soap. If you have any of the unopened little hotel bottles of personal care items, we'd love to have them, too. These go to the City of Refuge and Light House Ministries who both serve the poorest of the poor.

RENT AT THE STORHOUSE 420 Amity Road, Harrisburg, PA 17111, 234-2230. We have rented a storage unit to hold the donated fabric in a safe, bug and critter free, clean and climate controlled environment, with accessibility from 6 am to 11 pm. The staff at the StorHouse has been FANTASTIC to us! We highly recommend them if you are looking for a storage unit. Please use our name so we can get a wee discount if you rent with them. We share the fabric that's been donated to us with other needle arts charities for their specific projects, too, so if you'd like to help the needle arts charity community, please mail a money order or take cash (no checks or credit cards) directly to the StorHouse (NOT to me) at the address above and tell them it's for the Sewin' Sisters Sowing storage unit.
