One of the many sewing projects we have done (and continue to do) is sheets for the World Surgical Foundation (WSF). WSF serves those in third world countries who have no healthcare, due to unavailability or excessive costs. Visit their website to find out more about the wonderful work that they do.
WSF has been in desperate need of sheets for their hospital beds. When they perform medical/surgical procedures, they often haven't had any type of covering to place over the surface where the patient must lay (lie?). But they had lots and lots of 4X scrubs! So, upon finding out about us, they asked us if we could possibly cut up the scrubs, which they don't need, and make sheets, which they do need. We were more than happy to do so, and have already been able to provide them with several dozen sheets.
Now, what you are about to see is very rare for us. Out of over 18,000 items that we have sewn over the past four years or so, we usually do not see our sewn items in use. But look at the pictures we have received, enclosed in a thank you note:
We were so moved to see these. We honestly do not care if we receive thanks for the work that we do; we don't do this for praise or accolades. We do it because we believe it is the mission God has given us, and it is our task within the body of Christ. But we can't describe just how much these photos touched our hearts, and energized us to continue sending WSF as many as we can.
