We were invited to be a part of the very first Octoberfest at St. Catherine Laboure in Paxtang last week. It was held outside in beautiful weather. We taught 18 children and adults how to make a no-sew fleece scarf. The gals got to "curly" the fringed edges, and the guys were happy with the straight-line fringes. The fleece was provided by a church member. We will be happy to do this again next year. The best part for us was we didn't have to lug all of our sewing machines around! Doing the no-sew fleece scarves allowed us to serve more people quickly.
We have already been invited back for next year's Octoberfest. So we're on the lookout for donated fleece. If you have some squirled away and you'd like to pass it on, we'd sure be happy to have it for this event. It was really fun and hope you can attend the Octoberfest next year.
