UPCOMING EVENTS

2nd Annual Sew Much for Charity, Saturday, March 15, 2008 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 210 West Main Street in Hummelstown. The mission of the event is to give us the opportunity to share information about the many sewing circles in the Greater Harrisburg Area, collect a contact list for the various sewing circles, while sewing our own group projects to benefit our community in a big way. This is not a contest to see which group cranks out the most items; it is an opportunity to see what sewers in Central PA are doing to help our community, and how we might be able to help each other.

The event is free (donations for the use of the church hall would be welcome). Please bring your own water and snacks, sewing machine and tools (please put your name on a ribbon and tie it to the handle of your scissors and tools), electrical strips to accommodate your group, and your sewing project including your fabric, thread, etc.

All of the charities we sew for have told us they desperately need the little hotel/sample size bottles of personal care items and tiny bars of soap for the homeless, those in shelters, and disaster victims. If you'd like o help us meet this need, please bring what you have on hand, and we'll see that these charities get them. Thanks. Can't wait to see you all again!!!

Thanks To You, We're Catching Up!!!!!

Sisters, we are catching up! Through our sewing and prayers, both Light House Ministries and Interfaith Ministries now have enough clothes, blankets, etc. to meet their needs! I can hardly believe it, but WE DID IT!!! We can sleep at night knowing we have truly done our part to keep the children in Harrisburg warm at night! Thank you for sowing your love through your sewing!

Now we can concentrate on sewing for Salvation Army, Hershey Medical Center Pediatric Bereavement Program, and Pinnacle Health stroke victim fabric books. (Check out our blog for more details on their needs). There are still a lot of items that Salvation Army needs, so scroll down to review that list and make up whatever your heart desires!

I am SEW grateful that God allowed me to get to know and love such an incredible group of women. You guys are the BEST!!!
